What is LeafECO©?
LeafECO© by TOG is an environmentally-friendly ophthalmic lens, made from 82% bio-based content. In conjunction with Mitsui Chemical, Inc., TOG manufactures LeafECO© lenses with the DoGreen bio-based monomer. The LeafECO© lens material uses palm oil from certified palm oil trees in Thailand, rather than petroleum, and provides exactly the same lens specifications and ordinary plastic lenses.

What is LeafECO©?
LeafECO© represents the concept of "Lens for Earth" and an optical lens manufactured by TOG. LeafECO© was developed to reduce carbon emissions and is based on biomaterial 82% of the total substrate. These lenses use palm oil as a precursor, which has a lifespan and specifications similar to plastic lenses instead of fossil fuel or petroleum in the manufacture of lenses.
What Is the Difference Between Normal 1.74 and TOG 1.74 LeafECO©?
Regular 1.74 LeafECO© is made from petrochemicals, but TOG’s 1.74 LeafECO© is made from biomaterial. This will reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emissions from the production process into the atmosphere by at least 1.1 million kilograms per year.
